  • Susan Thompson, DVM, Practice Owner

    Susan Thompson, DVM, Practice Owner

Dr. Susan Thompson, DVM   Dr. Thompson was born in Durham North Carolina. As a child she relied on church, sports, and her love of animals to keep her on the right path. Her favorite television show was National Geographic World Wide Kingdom. She especially liked the shows that depicted sea life and had an uncanny interest in sharks. Although Dr. Thompson had many pets growing up, she cannot think of a single time that she went to a veterinarian as a child. In the 8th grade, she moved to Granville County and attended Hawley Middle School and later South Granville High School where she played basketball, softball, and volleyball. When she graduated, she attended North Carolina University at Wilmington and majored in marine biology in order to pursue her love of marine life and sharks. However, after working at a veterinary clinic, she realized that what she really wanted to be was a veterinarian. So she changed her major, received a B. S. in Biology, and was accepted into North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After her graduation in 1997, she worked at Eno Animal Hospital in Durham, N. C. for 4 years and then worked at the South Boston Animal Medical Clinic in Virginia. She then ventured out on her own and opened Tabbs Creek Animal Hospital in April of 2004. She built her practice from the bottom up and Tabbs Creek Animal Hospital is the only practice in Vance, Granville, and Person counties that is AAHA accredited. She has had over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician and doctor. Dr. Thompson is married and has a son, a daughter, and a step daughter. Her 4-legged furry kids includes 2 English pointers, a Welsh Springer Spaniel, a lab, a mixed-breed dog, 2 Siamese cats, a regular ole' cat, and a not so furry Sphynx. She also has 4 other cats that live at the clinic named Mocha, LT, Sabrina, and Sierra. She enjoys anything her kids do, watching any type of racing, and riding the Harley with her husband.

Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with his wife Teresa of 34 years, his two daughters, and his son and daughter-in-law. However, the apple of his eye is his beautiful granddaughter.
